It’s good to sit down here with you again.
I’m finding my way back to this space a few words at a time. Today, I wanted to begin with the invitation at the heart of the Hearth Room:
Come in. Sit down. Take what you need.
If you’ve been away too, welcome back. If you’ve kept stopping by, I’m glad you’re here. And if this is your first visit, there’s a chair for you.
When I wrote The Hearth Room: Five Lanterns for Heavy Days, I wanted those pages to offer a little company when life felt heavy.
Five small lights for five kinds of heavy days.
That feels like a good place to begin again.
You can visit the Hearth Room and start with whichever reflection speaks to the day you’re having. Read a little. Stay with a sentence. Leave the rest for another time. There’s no catching up to do.
I’m letting that invitation include me, too.
For today, I’m glad to have a few words to share and this familiar place to share them with you.
One Quiet Question
What would you like to return to, at your own pace?
There is room for you here, however long it’s been.
The porch light is on.
The light remains.
