Seen for Who We Are

Sometimes the greatest fairy tale isn’t finding someone who loves you—it’s finally believing you were worthy all along.

Who is the fictional character you relate to the most? For a long time, I never really had a fictional character that felt like me.

But if I had to choose one, I’d probably say Marisa Ventura from Maid in Manhattan.

Not because of the romance or the fairy-tale ending, but because she’s a woman who works hard, carries more than most people realize, and keeps moving forward with dignity. She isn’t looking for someone to rescue her. She simply wants the chance to be seen for who she really is.

I think that’s what resonates with me.

Life has taught me that people often carry stories no one else can see. I’ve learned that kindness matters, perseverance matters, and sometimes the greatest strength is quietly continuing when no one is watching.

Maybe that’s why her story stayed with me. Beneath the romance, it’s really a story about worth—and believing that who you are has always been enough.
