Voice With a Purpose · A Letter from Casey
While the Porch Light
Was Still On

It has been quiet here lately.
I haven’t been posting. I haven’t even been opening this little place I care so deeply about. My health has needed more of me than I have had to give, and there has been very little energy left for the words.
Ongoing medical problems have left me physically weak and emotionally tired. Some days, getting through the day has taken what I had.
I’m sorry I went quiet without leaving a little note, especially for anyone who wondered how I was doing. I wish I had been able to tell you sooner.
You matter to me. So does this space.
From the beginning, I wanted Voice With a Purpose to be somewhere we could bring our actual lives. The unfinished ones. The complicated ones. The ones where we are still waiting for answers and don’t yet know how to explain what we are living through.
That includes my life, too.
I have written so often about permission to rest. About belonging without having to earn it. About being allowed to return exactly as you are.
It is tender work, discovering how difficult it can be to offer yourself the very things you mean so sincerely for someone else.
I am still finding my way through what is happening with my health. I don’t have a neat ending to offer you. Today, I have enough words to pull up a chair and tell you where I’ve been.
That feels like somewhere to begin.
I want to return at a pace my body can manage. There may be quieter stretches between pieces. The essays, reflections, and little gifts already here remain yours to visit whenever you need them.
Thank you for sharing this space with me. For reading. For bringing your own life to these words.
And if you, too, have been away from something you love because life has asked more of you than you could carry, there is a chair here for you.
We can take our time.
There is room for you here.
I am learning to leave room for myself, too.
The porch light is on.
With love,Casey
