What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done?
The most spontaneous thing I’ve ever done was go to Mexico in 2016 with someone I had just met and barely knew.
I know. I can hear the questions already.
But I went, and I still remember snorkeling along the coral reef with sea turtles. I remember wandering around the resort, seeing animals roaming freely, dancing, and eating some amazing food. I spent time in the pool, where I met a couple who invited me to another beach. I went with them, too.
We’re still friends to this day.
That’s what stays with me most about the trip. I said yes to something completely unexpected, and it led me to a beautiful place, a swim beside sea turtles, and people who are still part of my life ten years later.
I don’t know if I’d make the same choice today. But I’m glad I have that memory of myself: curious, open to the moment, and willing to see where the day might take me.
