For a long time, I believed I had to earn my place in the world by constantly proving my worth.
I thought I needed to have all the answers, fix every problem, keep everyone happy, and somehow become “enough” before I deserved to rest.
Recently, I’ve learned something that has quietly changed the way I see life.
The people who matter most aren’t looking for perfection.
They’re looking for presence.
They don’t remember whether you always had the right words. They remember how you made them feel. They remember that you listened. That you stayed. That you cared.
I’ve stopped trying so hard to impress people and started trying to genuinely connect with them instead.
Ironically, that’s when my writing began to feel the most authentic.
Maybe that’s the lesson.
We don’t have to become someone else to make a difference.
Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer the world is simply the truest version of ourselves.
